Systemless in a Parallel World

Chapter 68 1st Soulring

Several days filled with torture passed in the blink of an eye. Zayn had barely moved during those days, yet his entire body was sore and he had been sweating buckets.

Finally, he was able to move without the fear of worsening the injuries he had inflicted upon himself by blindly absorbing the ownerless soul particles of the Berserk Blessed, Jarick. Jarick Cerk had enough soul particles to create his second Soulring, and his soul particles were more refined as well.

Thus, Zayn ended up in even more pain when he devoured the soul particles attached to his Soul Wisp greedily, not leaving even a single soul particle behind. It was his greed that prevented him from expelling some soul particles and his determination and willpower allowed him to survive.

He was also lucky to have met genuinely kind villagers in the small village that he had entered while he was in his worst condition, drenched in his own blood from head to toe and his skin covered in wounds and blisters wherever one could look.

Zayn had yet to fully heal but he was still satisfied with his current condition nonetheless. The landlord of the cottage allowed him to stay as long as he wished to stay. Furthermore, he also said that his granddaughter would bring him three meals a day and that he should focus on getting better.

That had been unexpected since Zayn thought that his existence as Normie would make everybody avoid him. He only found out later that the pharmacist was also a Normie and that the pharmacist\'s actions in the past were the reason why the villagers weren\'t openly hostile to Zayn.

The pharmacist had proved to be a helping hand and saved many lives even though he had been frowned upon initially. It was only obvious that they repaid their debt and that their mindset was slowly affected by the Normie pharmacist\'s actions!

When Zayn was finally done absorbing and annexing the soul particles that had wreaked havoc within his body, he felt much stronger than before. He knew that he could fill his Soulring to the brim and that he could already start creating an unstable soulframe of his second Soulring.

Zayn\'s plan for the next few weeks was pretty simple. While his body was regenerating, he wanted to finish the creation of his first Soulring. Afterward, he would be able to make a rough estimation to see if the remaining soul particles amassed inside his heart would be enough to create the soulframe for his second Soulring.

\'To think that I can advance that quickly…opportunities are certainly life-threatening, yet, worth every drop of blood I\'ve shed!\'

Even though the trouble caused by Jarick and his people was bothersome, it was a fact that Zayn made tremendous gains in the process. He had advanced rapidly due to his suicidal actions, had gotten his hands on the Herculean Human Spirit which was the main cause for the efficiency in which he advanced, and much more.

There were many more things he gained in the process of the Undead Invasion, but one of the most important gains was definitely the soul particles from Jarick\'s Soul Wisp, and his equipment, which included his expanding pouch!

Zayn was now in possession of two expanding pouches. This was already more than enough for him to be exhilarated. After all, Jarick\'s expanding pouch had the space of 100 cubic meters, which was four times the size of his own expanding pouch.

This was also why Zayn was not too upset about the loss of the bloody sword that Jarick had wielded before. It was likely that the bloody sword had been a creation of Jarick\'s power, but it didn\'t really matter even if it was lying somewhere on the battlefield.

The corpse of the half-Undead Blessed had been found in the midst of the ordinary Undead\'s bones, and the news had already spread through the village like wildfire. Nobody in the village knew what exactly had transpired but there was not a single rumor about a young and injured Normie having destroyed the large group of Skeletons. That was to be expected, which was also why Zayn didn\'t really have to be worried about anything right now.

He could focus on tending to his wounds and the soul particles that had been carefully amassed within his heart.

But that was quite hard because he was way too curious about the content of Jarick\'s expanding pouch.

"Wasn\'t he just the leader of a town\'s Adventurer Hall? How the hell is he so rich?" Zayn blurted out when he found out the fortune in Jarick\'s possession.

It was already a great surprise that someone like Paul had been in possession of several gold thalers but Jarick was even wealthier than that. To Zayn, it almost felt like Jarick had never purchased anything in his entire life and that he had simply ransacked the warehouse of the town\'s Adventurer Hall before abandoning the town.

If not for that, it should be close to impossible to accumulate as much wealth as Jarick possessed, not if he didn\'t steal money from every merchant in the town and adjacent towns.

But that was not a problem for Zayn, at all. Who was he to complain about the money that was shoved into his pockets without any efforts?

There were many other things inside the expanding pouch but they weren\'t that valuable to him. He didn\'t know the use of most things inside Jarick\'s expanding pouch but he didn\'t discard them right away. On the contrary, Zayn chose to keep everything for the time being. It might come in handy later even if he didn\'t know what the things might be used for.

With that in mind, he returned his focus to the completion of his first Soulring.

Three weeks passed in a slow but steady manner. Zayn filled his first Soulring and completed the ring by sealing the small seam that had been used to fill the Soulring with soul particles. The entire process was rather simple now that all necessary steps had been fulfilled. Thus, the completion of his first Soulring was accomplished without a problem.

As for the gains he made from creating his first Soulring, that was only something Zayn could tell!
